Scare Yourself Festive at San Jose Halloween Attractions
It's that time of year again, as an eerie shadow falls over South Bay, ever-darkening as we get closer to Halloween. In Silicon Valley, there are no shortage of frightful attractions to get you into the spirit – from ghost tours of historic mansions, to cursed amusement parks and demented haunted houses in San Jose. Here are a few of our favorites, all 10-15 minutes from the comfort of our hotel:
Winchester Mansion Flashlight Tours
October 16-17th, 22nd-25th, 29th-31st
525 S Winchester Blvd
A rare peek at California's most eccentrically creepy (and haunted!) mansion, you'll follow your guide with the help of a souvenir flashlight, fumbling in the dark as you explore the labyrinth of rooms, doors and stairs to nowhere. The hour-long tour sells out fast, so be sure to book yours today!
Halloween Haunt at California's Great America
October Weekends: Fri-Sun, 7pm-Midnight
4701 Great America Parkway
The Bay Area's premiere, 100-acre amusement park transforms into a haunted wasteland of terrifying attractions. In addition to nearly 60 rides, the Haunt features eight brutal mazes, three live shows, and a number of themed "scare zones" littered with zombies, escaped mental patients, and murderous toys.
Dead Time Dreams Haunted House
October 15-18th, 22nd-25th, 28th-31st
2501 Tully Road
Start your fright-fest with The Midway of Terror, featuring a different collection of macabre monsters every night. Then venture into two "immersive attractions" – one, a sick tomb of sacrifice; the other, a wickedly twisted maze of radioactive mayhem.
