San Jose Things to Do - Downtown Ice Skating

Lace up your skates and hit the ice before the winter is over. Open now through Sunday, February 7, the Hawaiian Airlines Kristi Yamaguchi Downtown Ice rink is a top destination if you want to have fun and enjoy a little winter activity. The holiday crowds are gone, and it's the perfect time to get out onto the ice. Special themed events take place several days of the week, including the following:

  • Sunday: Sharks mascot Sharkie will skate with the kids from 12 pm to 1 pm
  • Monday: BYOS (Bring your own skates) and skate for free
  • Wednesday: Retro Wednesday – Skate with retro music in the background, and mention "Retro Rewind Prices" at the admissions window for 2-for-1 prices
  • Thursday: Throwback Thursday (#TBT) – A family of four skates for $30.
  • Friday:  Aloha Fridays: Skate for $10 and celebrate our partner Hawaiian Airlines by wearing some sort of Hawaiian attire, such as a lei or flowered shirt.

Skating at the Hawaiian Airlines Kristi Yamaguchi Downtown Ice rink costs $13 for kids and $15 for adults, including rentals. The ice rink is located at the Circle of Palms, near the San Jose Museum of Art and not far from our hotel. Would you like to know more about our hotel, or San Jose things to do in the winter?
