29th Annual Connoisseurs' Marketplace in Menlo Park
Saturday and Sunday, July 18 and 19, 2015
10am – 6pm
Santa Cruz Avenue between El Camino Real and Johnson streets
This art and wine festival features a wonderful range of contemporary fine art and handmade crafts. Presented by the Menlo Park Chamber of Commerce, the Connoisseurs' Marketplace is a premier Bay Area summer festival that combines sophistication and fun. Admission is free. Highlights of the Marketplace include 200 artisans from around the United States. They work in many types of media including photography, painting and metal. Crafts include jewelry, leather goods and woodworks.
Street performers and live music at the Fremont Park stage will take place throughout the festival. Entertainers include Doug Miller & Mike Keating Quintet, Bob Culbertson and Aryeh Frankfurter. Children will love the new Kids' Creative Center where they can take part in free arts and crafts, face painting, and other activities.
Adults will especially enjoy the Microbrew and Wine Tasting. Be sure to stop by the Culinary Arts Corner for cooking demonstrations from restaurants like Left Bank and Mayfield Bakery & Café. There will also be book signings by authors Cheryl Sternman Rule and Margo True. Gourmet Island is the Marketplace spot to find delicious treats and specialty foods that make great gifts — although you just might be tempted to keep them all to yourself! These include R & J Toffees, the Spice Hound and the Central Valley Gourmet Nut Company.
