California summer weekends in the Bay Area mean hitting the streets for culture and soaking in the sun, all while you satisfy your senses with live music, fine food, craft beer and world-class wines. You’ll find all this and more at Palo Alto Festival of the Arts, celebrating 34 years of family fun on the city’s hip throughway of University Avenue. Not only is it one of the most anticipated annual events in Silicon Valley, it's the perfect place for visitors to shop for uniquely authentic souvenirs, while getting a taste of everything great about Bay.
Over 300 Artists from Across the Region
With crowds of up to 150,000 shoppers, many of the most visionary voices on the West Coast descend upon the festival’s open-air gallery to sell their modern masterpieces. From bronze sculptures and ceramic fountains, to handmade jewelry and abstract paintings, there’s no end to what you might find.
The “Picassos on Tasso”
A yearly festival favorite, the Italian Street Painting Expo is art in action, as 60 artists from Italy and California revive an old-world tradition with chalk, covering Tasso Street with murals of epic proportions.
Live Music Everywhere You Turn
With a stage on both Webster and Waverly Streets, the festival’s soundtrack has something for everyone, featuring styles as diverse as bluegrass, R&B, and worldly musicians wandering through the crowd.
